Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What or who do you hate but everybody else seems to love??

McGoohan
Somebody was talking about him on this very thread a few days ago. I didn't know who he was so looked him up. I have since forgotten him and CBAed to look him up again.

Rylan appears to have relentlessly pursued fame through every means possible in modern society. That fact that he remains in the public eye is more of a reflection on that society than any judgement on the man himself.

[It does, Gobi. It sometimes becomes a "things most people hate" thread.]

Rylan is fairly local and has come into my shop though I've never seen him and supposedly hes a nice person

I guess its modern society hate it or love it where fame is acquired on reality shows and not acquired at being brilliant at something

[In answer to your rant jackdaw, there are lots of appropriate solutions to global warming, but virtually all of them require political will and sacrifice. Very few of the world's high resource consumers - us - are currently willing to make sufficient sacrifices and most of the politicians have been bought or at least highly influenced by multinationals who oppose appropriate solutions. Once we blunder along for another decade doing nothing the radical solutions might have to be technological.

Now I expect someone to get the thread back on track by suggesting 'People who can't keep politics to the Politics thread'!]
