(I'd be sad too, Idris. I might have refused to leave.)

After today confirming for work tomorrow, but saying I would be unavailable for Friday, I received a message after returning home advising that I'm not needed tomorrow.

Only a minor disaster as, despite missing out on money, I didn't really want to go in tomorrow. It's too hot at work, I'm dog tired, and I'd rather have the freedom to enjoy the good weather.

It also opens up the possibility of running a 10K race tomorrow evening. Undertrained, hot and sunny - potentially tomorrow's minor disaster :-p

I sat on my glasses, snapping one arm off. Mr W to the rescue with his trusty fisherman’s superglue. Took the dog out, sunglasses on, got back. He confirmed that the glasses were fixed and ready to wear.
Swapped sunglasses for glasses, picked up phone and quickly found my middle finger and thumb firmly glued to it.
Much wiggling and rinsing later and I’m free, the phone’s drying out nicely.

Postscript- I’m now going the washing in my sunglasses whilst the glue ‘cures’ for fear of ending up with them stuck to my head!

I threw a brand new bottle of gin on the floor while opening the car door.

It did not survive, but it smelled amazing as it spread over the hot tarmac.

I was able to go and buy another bottle, so it wasn't that major. Just €22 evaporated in the sunshine.

Decided to go for a run, and, as it is so hot, to give my running vest a rare outing.

Discovered that I am currently too fat for my running vest.
