Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

What do you know today, that you did not yesterday?

In all seriousness there seems to be a problem with some of those communities that are almost intrinsically isolated. I heard someone from Hull on the radio yesterday and she was saying that she wanted the town to be put into the highest tiers so they could get the virus under control.

[In the first lockdown, we were mostly in the bottom 10 areas affected in the country. It's been quite alarming to watch areas like Hull and others around here hit the top 10 this month.]

yes...I found Burnham's actions marked him put as a poor politician and a bit of a berk, you have to make deals....but he seems to be held in very high esteem...the stupid line "we do things differently here" was trotted out, well yeah, we'll have to them with a fair bit less money than we might have done.

[I wrongly maligned McG's council area as having one of the higher rates of infection in Surrey, although, compared to the national averages, infection rates are are still low. Spelthorne and Runnymede are top, with Epsom and Ewell being third (which I'd misremembered as being Reigate and Banstead).
