That eating beetroot makes urine pink! It's even got a name - beeturia. Only found out after I called GP! I was mortified for being a time waster, but she seemed to find it amusing!

At least you or your GP twigged, Margarita. If you'd ended up having a 'scope either into your bladder or your bowel because of beetroot, you wouldn't have been the first. [I learned about beeturia by experience as a small child; I loved pickled beetroot and once I discovered it gave you pink peepee I did it on purpose.]

[I once ate a pie that had a crust dyed black for effect. The next day my poo was what i can only describe as "St Patrick's Day bright green". Was a bit panicked until I googled that black food dye can do that!]
