Is that a reference to Rik Williams "file" Boab? I loved the way he described that!
Santa (and everyone else join in!) how many times have you been running at say 2am (actually for at least 1 hour so say 1.30 to 2.30am or longer)?
HappyG: 1 Santa: 5 (total guess - WHW starts + non PB WHW finish + ?? Minty: ??

Whw x2 Glenmore x1
Glenmore was tough, the night seemed to last forever! I did prefer starting the race at noon, I'd had a good night's sleep and a long lie to set me up.

So it's 4 times then Sants - PB one (cos you finished midnight), DNF one start, and the 25 hour one counts as two?!

HappyG: 1 (Glenmore 24) Santa: 4 (3 WHW - 1 over 25 hrs = x 2) Minty: 2 (G24 + WHW)?? mrs shanksi: 5 (G24 + 2 x WHW > 25)??
I'm just trying to demonstrate that only having done 1 x night time race is reason I'm going for a night time run tomorrow! G

Before training weekends,I'm sure one of the traditional last training sessions was a head torch run on the early stretches of the route.
It's got to be a good thing to do, if only to feel more familiar with that little disc of light in a fortnight's time...

I suppose we all run in the dark in winter so should be sort of used to it. In one of the WHW Race podcasts I am sure there was a training tip about not running at night as part of your training as it will just leave you tired. I would think it is better to get your body ready to be awake at 1am rather than practice running in the early hours. Just my thoughts, in no way should this be taken as sound advice from an experienced ultra runner!!

I've run in the middle of the night a fair number of times and don't find it an issue at all.
