I can't help it. I know it's 9 months away, but I've started planning already. Entries don't open til November, and we won't know til end Nov/early Dec if we're in, but training plans don't write themselves!
So, my first question - does anyone know when then WHW training weekends are likely to be organised? I know there were ones in Jan/Feb last year and maybe also March? I'd like to go on at least one and possibly more than one. But cross country is also on right up til Jan/Feb, so want to avoid clashing with that, if poss. Anyone know who organises and when? Is it John K who gets them going? G

Lol. That's right, you may need a Visa to come to Scotland by next week. And with your background Joops...!
I'm not on the scrounge for support crew (yet!) just really keen to plan my long run and/or race weekends for Dec - Apr. Family hols, other obligations will get be vying for weekends and I just want to get my weekends in first, if possible!
Planning on doing G2E on 5 April as my longest build up race (55 miles should do!) Need to do some training on The Way. Would also love to go away for a hilly weekend run, but somewhere other than WHW. Anyone got any ideas/plans for a big weekend somewhere hilly and a bit technical (like the Lochside). G

I can tell you one version of how to train for this thing... ... and I can also tell you another of how not to train for this.
Which version would you like?

G, when does the G2E open for entries? Considering this myself as a build up to VLM and beyond next year.

Boab, I don't think G2E sells out quickly, so prob not too much of a rush. I seem to remember it had an "early bird" entry price (being a profit making bunch - Resolute Events, not a for runners, by runners type event like WHW, Fling etc.) - think it was cheaper before December 31? Keep checking their website.
Santa, that would be awesome. Would be great to run some of WHW with you for training. I really need to up my game and try and run the technical sections a bit harder and a bit faster, to build up some strength, so I don't end up crying every time there are some rocks or stairs!
Minty - whatever you did, it worked. You have a goblet, I don't. And an awesome Rambo profile picture to go with it! G
