Do you need to declare your support team at this time?

No - by the way, not until nearer the time - assuming you get through the selection process :-)

I know. I'm biased though. The WHWR is very special.

Still 2 weeks to wait til we find out? Or more? 9 or 10 Dec perhaps?! 3 weeks. Excited!

Loved John Kynaston's podcast 67 - the reverse interview by Neil and Caroline Gibson. And still got 68 and Robbie Britton to look forward to.

So what does training look like for those who are doing it for first time, and those who are relatively new to ultras (you lot who have done dozens of 50-100 milers need not reply - you are super human! Seriously, your build up would be different, presumably, as you have much greater ultra experience and training already in your legs.)?

I'm just building up to 20 milers at weekend and c. 50 mpw. Precious little speed. Bits of running in hills, but not true hill repeats or anything. Got one 55 mile race planned (Glasgow to Edinburgh, not The Fling, just as an alternative) in April. Might also do a marathon or two. Plenty of fun half marathons and other trail stuff too, I suspect.

Who all is going on the Nov 28 training run (it's a Fling trainer), Jan 31 WHW training run etc.?

And how fabby were the pics from the Glee Run on Sun 16 Nov just past? Wow, brilliant to see. I had a soggy plod by myself in the rain in the Pentlands on the Monday, instead. But it was lovely too! :-) G

Enjoying Podcast 68 - Robbie Britton interview. Isn't he a lovely fella? Very upbeat and very self effacing. Seems like a really nice lad. Hope he continues to do well.

I love the fact that none of you talk about training, planning or any other such nonsense - you just do this WHW thing naturally and take it in your stride?!

C'mon, are there any other WHW-newbies on here that want to chat? Keep me company! :-) G

Lol, you're like the Duracell bunny. I. Know I'm not a newbie and I know I'm repeating myself but it's too early to be actually putty quality training in right now. Keep doing what your doing and sticking to building up, no pointing killing yourself. Enjoy lead up to Christmas. Ian always tells me training starts early march, for real.

Agree with Santababy. And I can't let my excitement start until I know if I'm actually on the start list which we won't find out for a wee while, so G just chill! You will be fine!
