Was geared up for the bus back, but Helen and John gave Amanda and me a lift back. Was much appreciated :-)

Great to hear you got a good long run in Minty. Running strong and injury free again? Look after yourself.

I need to stalk the WHW entry list again - there are loads of Fetchies doing it this year, aren't there? :-) G

Running injury-free (well it's all relative - normal aches and pains ignored) but not strong. Overweight and plodding, but if I just don't set any time targets other than cut-offs, I think there's a possibility I may get to Fort William :-)

Isn't it just fab that whenever I'm on or near the WHW, I bump into so many friends! Far more than I ever see down South. It's a great place to be, so it is. And I'm not from Northern Ireland, so I'm not :-)

I think to "get to Fort William" is my number one goal! Sounds good to me. The Scottish ultra community is great, so many lovely people and all so supportive. :-) G

Slightly gutted i wasn't still around to abuse...sorry i mean cheer you on :)G ;-)

I have to admit the whole atmosphere around the ultra scene has been great in my limited experience of ultra running. I may well be back next year for another bite. (Lou will probably shake her head if she see's this post :-o)
Anyway - i've got the Glenmore relay this year but not sure that counts as ultra running later in the year after the relay on the WHW...looking forward to that one i must admit.
Also walking the WHW at the end of may so no doubt see a few out there putting in their last recce runs along the way:)
How's the legs :)G, recovering well after G2E??

Not bad thanks Stoosh. Rest on Sunday (eating chocolate choc , pub lunch etc.), gentle gym on Monday (foam roller, stretches, gentle spin bike, swim, sauna, Jacuzzi) with my boy on hols, short 3 mile gentle run yesterday, then Pilates (which is always harder than you think it should be!) so... yip, fine thanks. A bit of left calf/shin soreness, right ham/back of knee, but to be honest, not much worse than usual!

Club tonight and I have volunteered to tail run, to avoid getting sucked into the tempo. Light weekend of 6-8 Sat and maybe 10 Sunday. Then back on it next week. Need to do more hills work. And will be going long with some more 50+ mile weekends required.

Here's a Q - does anyone know where the May 22/23 final WHW training weekend will be based? Is it Tyndrum (By The Way)? That will be my last big weekend then a 4 week taper! Ultra taper?! slowdownyoumovetoofast :-) G

Remember, you've got 4 years of this in your legs sants (or more - when did you do first ultra?), and I've only got 18 months. I've got to do more to get to the same place as you.

Thanks, I'm going to try and book a family place somewhere nearby too, so they can have a walking/sight seeing day out. I'm thinking they might like Glencoe area. I'll see what I can find. :-) G
