Halfway was rather busy. I wasn't aware of him dropping out but then I don't remember seeing him at all. Of course I don't suppose he needed loaded into the van and driven to the car and chauffeured back to Duthie Park like some

This would now seem to be a thread for every other Scottish Ultra. Speyside Way is drying out nicely for some serious running ;-).
In answer to G's point about the complexity of Stockingfield Junction, it was well marshalled the year I ran G2E. Plus, unless you go for blowing the rest of the field away in the first mile Boab, the lead group should know the way!
