Tbh I don't think there is one way of doing it. Look at the many blogs and you'll see a different approach from everyone. It's about finding what's right for out personally , and what you can fit into your lifestyle too. And a lot of that will be trial and error

Agree with your last post santa. Actually I didn't run up the hills on the Rannoch section, I fast walked, but I ran all the flat bits and downhills so I count that as running the section. I physically couldn't run for the first 11 miles out of KLL. I walk the hills right from the very start. I've never been able to run up the big hills. I am running up more 'less steep' hills in training though.

It's definitely trial and error. Experience helps. For me the difference was 4 hours quicker the 2nd time just by taking pro plus and not knackering my itb earlier in the year.

Good for you :-)G, I can never motivate myself to do reps of any kind. I've got club tonight so I will do what I'm told by the coach. (I'm hoping it's not hill reps tonight!)

If it is hill reps on a Tuesday mrs s, can I come up to Stoney on a Tuesday night?!

Lol sants, I saw your pic on FB. Does your coach get sponsored by Bold washing powder, cos that was one soaking t-shirt!!

Well, I managed some hill reps. By myself. It wasn't much cop, but I tried and I did something and I could def feel it was working me differently. I will strengthen up the glute, ham, quad, calf combos so I don't die along the lochside! :-) G

Nice work G. I have had an easy week and started back with some quality today. I've come around to the fact that I might have experienced a new level of fatigue pain at last week's G2E. If I was injured, I would still be injured and the with today's lunchtime session of 6x1 mile, off 90s, all run under 5:15 pace, shows that I am most certainly not injured!!!! So, once VLM is out of the way, I will be joining you on these hill reps and long runs in the hills, I need to get my who hip/glute/hamstring area strengthened, and what better way to do it than on the hills!!

Great news Boab. Glad to hear it wasn't an acute injury and you can address it with strengthening work.

I've just posted in club FB page to ask who is doing hill reps. Proposal is Tue nights, Gowanhill (or poss Beeches Avenue) 6.15 for hill reps. Tomorrow (Wed) night normal club run is doing a 5 out of 15 Skyline summits hill run. I love our wee club!

By the way, I'm sure you'd be welcome to join us, if it suited you. :-) G
