Soz if this has been covered already but has something changed on the Checkpoints game as well as UTMOST? I've stopped getting checkpoint fmail updates since the middle of last week.

Fitz, this was discussed on the Checkpoints thread (http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=56287) yesterday... Checkpoint notifications have been turned off but otherwise the game is unchanged.

Given that I only really do fell and orienteering races, this isn't a good game for me...

Fell races tend to be a bit slower for the same distance given the slight up nature of them and I am unable to log orienteering races on here...

What are the tie-breaking rules? If I do manage a PB tomorrow night (ha!), I'll be equal 15th with three other people on 56 points. Which one of us would get the chop? I can't figure out how the three are currently ranked - it's not by highest individual score (which is a shame as I have a 20!), nor by 6th highest score.

The tie-breaking rules (which I've just made up) are that if two runners have equal total points, we look at how they did head-to-head. So if Runner A is faster at more distances than Runner B, then Runner A goes ahead. That should cover most cases, but if you spot one where this doesn't resolve things, let me know :-)

Cool. I beat the other three in four distances, so if I manage to run quicker than I ever have before tonight, I stay up. :D

And if you don't, your times look pretty decent for the division below (the one I'm in).

should the tie break maybe exclude extrapolated times and focus on real times ?

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
Start in the bottom division, and compete over seven different distances against your rivals for weekly promotion!

How It Works
1) The game takes your best times from training and racing over the last 12 months.

2) If you've got the fastest 5k in your division, you get 20 points. If you're second fastest, you get 19 points, etc.

3) Your FIVE best scores are used to calculate your total. So if your scores at each distance are 20,20,20,20,20,10,5 the lowest two are discarded, and your total points would be 100.

4) Promotion and relegation happen every Monday at midday.
