Consoled myself with how much voting changed at brexit and figured it would come as right as it could but seems not. Seems the majority of Americans are as mad as the majority of the British. Got a feeling that I need to live for the day while I can.

You also have to say if this is how people have voted ypu to have to listen. Work out why and do something about it. You might not like it but you have to work with it. That is democracy.

I'm not going to accept bigotry delivered through democracy any more than I'd accept bigotry delivered through dictatorship. Democracy has always been accepted as a balancing act between giving the majority what they ask for whilst defending minority interests. What we have here could turn into tyranny of the majority instead.
