Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Agree about the new std fit 212s, but you'll probably need to go up at least half a size as they size far smaller than the precision fit ones. They're are now my standard ultra shoes.

Interestingly I've got nearly 400 miles out my orange 190s although they've had a large split down the sides for the last 300! They're better than the red ones though. They fell apart after 90. Might see how the 200s fare as a compromise.

I briefly considered running Sunday's Frostbite ultra in my 200s and wish I had! Muddy doesn't begin to describe it .... I just didn't fancy wearing the studs down on the road bits, there's probably no more that 1.5 miles of this though. They would have made a real difference ... in the end I wore and old pair of Wave Ascends, comfy but limited grip.

Luckily not an issue for me. I think talons are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had.

For real mud, bare grips are even better. They're like mini tractors :-). I love mine. Almost a comfy as my talons off-road, but you do have to like a proper minimal, zero drop shoe though.

Ditto re: comfort of talons, on or off-road I find they provide both comfort and grip beyond any other shoe I can recall. What you do compromise by wearing them on road is their longevity but I'm prepared to put up with that to have a shoe I can happily wear on any terrain, over any distance, straight from the box :-) I dread the day Invo8 decide to mess with them in the name of progress :-/

yep, I'd happily run a road marathon in them, and have used them for ultras with large amounts of road in them, but it does take a big toll on the studs.

There's a reason I have a stockpile of them. 9 pairs in total, from still boxed to full of holes and missing most studs. I hate throwing them away until they actually fall off my feet :-)

Yet another "how to train" thread morphs into debates on the micro-differences between shoes and bags :)

Bags? are they the new lightweight alternative to shoes? Are you using 'bags for life' or do you pay your 5p per run?

I must have had getting on for ten models but never had X-Talons. Racing shoes are wasted on a fat plodder like me pig
