he leading 3 are miles ahead of Jasmin's trophy, I measured at roughly 20km. Very early days yet though I thought my page didn't have the trophies until I kept on looking. Curiously, Damian's trophy is also miles ahead of Jasmin's trophy. Probably confirms ff's previous supposition that it's tied to actual position rather than average speed. I noted John has said conditions are fantastic.


The race organisation issued a fb post confirming that the trophy positions are based on the actual gpx tracks from the two record runs.

Saw a bunch of very cold looking Spiners when I was passing through Gargrave this morning, car said -4c.

My hands felt colder than that just walking to work this morning. It didn't make me envy these runners.

Who is going to need sleep first? Is anyone brave enough to blast through Middleton and try to get to Alston without sleep (unless it's changed you can't stop long enough, nor are there real facilities, to sleep at Dufton)?

Have they changed the CPs this year - Middleton isn't marked as a CP, Kim and Damo have already passed it. CP3 in a few miles is Langdon.

Yes I realised that a few hours ago when I thought the tracker route was missing a bit in Middleton. I don't think it makes any real difference.

Waiting to see if anyone is going to go for two nights without stopping? Personally I think it would be a major gamble given the terrain to Alston but if it worked I also think it could be a winning move. Jasmin going straight through Alston was unexpected, this could be the next level.
