Some times you also just need to find a pack that works for you. I had a Salomon one that caused me no end of issues, switched to an Ultimate Direction one and loved it, but it had a weird big plastic adjuster on the back for the waist straps which other people hated.

That's the thing GG it's so comfy to run in! I love it.
I just stuff things in no thought to packing so maybe that's a thought

Strange

My thoughts were perhaps .... well I know I tend to lean when running anyway always have even when slimmer. I feel like I am running better with this than the old one so maybe it's body saying WTF you are running better?!

I really need to accept age and do some S&C too

Mr. K.
Adding my 2p in.

Probably be best to add in some S&C.

Interested to know if you practiced with the same kit as worn on race day.

I know I run differently when using handhelds, Poles and Packs - so I make sure I`ve used those in training - sorry if explaining to suck eggs.

Agree on the weight side - my current gait is different to when I`m -5KGs.

Mr K I'm using the rucksack to commute to work twice a week and have no plans for silly long runs (see I said it in black and white so it won't happen haha)

I tend to have a change of clothes, kindle for lunch, purse, tea flask, recovery drink (to drink as soon as I get to work) and maybe some food

Never thought about how to pack it

will try to change things tomorrow and perhaps leave the drinks and make them at work instead of carrying them!

what S&C would you suggest? I currently do nothing!

Pix the flask/drink will fit in the side pockets I normally carry my 500ml bottle there and put clothes at the bottom, kindle/purse towards top & towards your back on the inside to balance the weight.

yeah I used the side pockets - just thought it may not help and wondered if the side pockets were in a different place on my back to the old rucksack
will play with positioning of main stuff

Have a play. On S&C I do (normally) Julia Buckley’s workouts they suit me all possible at home and generally 1/2hr long. There should be some free workouts on her FB page, I have an annual memebership to her online gym.

You could try taking empty bottles to work and mixing there as you get used to the pack.

The same bag isn't even the same on different days for me!!

I initially loved it, then slowly found different faults that annoyed me at different tiredness levels. But last week (despite having it for 4 years now) I was using it with my new raincoat. The bag itself probably wasn't that full so the combination of lack of weight in it and the lack of friction between the bag and coat, meant it just swung throughout the entire run. Not enough to be too annoying, but it would probably be enough to change the strain on muscles.

GG's suggestion above is key. Small changes can be a fix (or in my case here a hindrance).

it could just be the change of bag and maybe it IS making me run better/more upright!
I'm not giving up as it feels so comfy to run in!
