Larkim- that sounds fine to me. Base fitness should easily get you through it. You might want to try a run or two where you eat a few snacks/gels etc. to check you are fine with eating and running.

@NDWDave - thanks, yes that's something I had planned too. Early morning runs with breakfast "on the fly" seems a perfectly good way to test this out. Need to find out what is easy / what I like / what works well and find the best combo. Soreen and dried fruits look likely to be high up the agenda, and I'm already a big fan of hydration tablets like the SIS ones (i.e. I like the taste and they seem to help keep cramps at bay). Other than that I'm expecting to drink water and whilst I'd prefer to avoid gels / shot blocs etc I will need to try some out as they are definitely convenient!

Good Luck Chris !! i'll be there at the start as seeing someone else off, i'll try and remember to wear my Hoodie !! :-)

In other news I've been lucky again and will be making sure I cross the finish line of the OCC in 2017 :-)
