With this so closer after the Hamburg bike tragedy, IM isn't looking great as as organisation. I have no idea if there's significant overlap, or even communication, between the actual organisers of the various IM brand events, but deaths at two races so close together seems unlikely to be purely hideously unlucky coincidence?

This is a big success. Also, I had a perfect swim in the sea this afternoon. It could not have been more enjoyable. Sorry about the 'rona getting you Greg. Hope it's over and done with pdq.

I read a post yesterday on a swimming page that sounded to me as if the race really, really, should not have started. A swimmer wrote that they were already in the water and swimming when the route change was implemented and they were grabbed by the leg to stop swimming. Their risk assessment sound inadequate, and I know it's a cliche to talk about lessons being learned, but I hope they can regain the competition and enjoyment without such high stakes for the competitors.
