Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yeah, you just need to have a lower balance than you started with Synge, so as Cheeky’s Dad says - sell all your portfolio, buy someone you know who’s going to make a loss overnight, then cash out and get your badge.

(That’s what I had to do when I left the game the first time, as I’d missed the badge when I started trading)

Working all the way back down would seem a recipe for insanity

Good point, CD!

Recipe for insanity: buying everyone at five to midnight and selling at five past!

When I started trading, I didn't have a clue and naively thought it would be a good strategy to buy runners and keep them long term. I got the loser badge on my 2nd day in the game after overnight losses. It was a harsh but valuable lesson.

Possible pacing strategy: 5 mins in the morning: wake up, buy from the top sorted by value with a fast finger. 1 min before bed: hit "'Sell all you runners'. Only take more time than that when you can be bothered. It's a marathon not a sprint 😉

This is the strategy I have used for most of my time on my way to that elusive toilet roll!

except now I buy as early as I can, and then check a couple of times more in the morning, sell anyone green and continue buying down the list. Once I have absolutely everyone I leave it till I go to bed and then sell.

I know I will be buying people who have possibly already run, or have no intention of running but I don't have the time or inclination to check anymore.

Another one here who gave up shortly after being one of the first 30 to get 'Fearless Girl'.

Started making the odd selection again a few weeks back for some unknown reason. I don't really know what I'm doing here again...? 🤣

I do pretty much what you do Em, but have a few on the list who I know run in the afternoon, so leave them until later to buy. I'm increasing by about 7k a week. I've started selling at a set time in the evening to avoid those ridiculously late nights that were starting to become a habit.

That works until people start running early. Like Monday - by a lot of runners. If it wasn’t so obviously not, I’d have thought I’d missed a bank holiday!!!

I also do the going through the list from the top. (This time round) last time I had a list of those I knew ran everyday

I buy a few further down the list who I know are early morning runners.

I'm not expecting to run much till the new year expect score to go down. Even when my mileage was higher it usually dropped in November and December. I expect this year no different.

I do your strategy 57.5 and then sell greens and buy a couple of times in the day.

Maybe I cut those out for a bit and see if I feel better about it.

Not bothered about racing for the top 30.

Just not giving up over 1/2 way to the loo roll

Hi. I just joined this community a week ago, and started this game 4 or 5 days ago. My initial value was 64, and that's now up to 87 over the week. I'll probably do another 10 miles by Sunday. My 3 monthly mileage will pick up now and should be heading towards 300 in fairly quick time, and then maybe slowly continue to 400.

Maybe this info is of use to you seasoned traders :)

How To Play
As a trader, your job is to pick the runners that you think will increase in value.

You start with 1000 credits, and can use these to purchase shares in runners. If you think their mileage is about to drop, then it's time to sell.

Runner values are calculated based on the total volume of running mileage completed in the last 90 days. Values are recalculated as soon as a runner has logged a run.

Runners get a notification when you buy shares, but not when you sell them.

The value of a runner can go up or down, but don't threaten them. Have fun!
