Earplugs are good - I recommend them! They don't cancel out all the sound (well mine don't, anyway) but they mute it enough for you to relax because sounds are far less intrusive :-)

James is exaggerating a tiny bit about the giant yellow castle ;-), but it was a BIG gazebo, and it was very yellow, and because we were on top of a hill you could see it from miles around .....

DeeGee - where we were was great as we were close to the 3Km mark. If you camped at the bottom of that bit rather than the top you would be alongside the course.

Admittedly I do have to apologise for being the one shouting 'Phil' very loudly about 2am, but he wasn't there! (It seems most of the guys in our tent heard me, so probably everyone else did as well...)

I was quite enjoying the free live band we could hear from campsite A.

The people who'd camped over Friday night weren't too impressed though.

Yeah, I think it would be useful to have some sort of "tie on the door handle" system so you know, at night, if the teammate that you're meant to be waking is already up and out getting a coffee/having a dump or not.

We were up on B right beside the track as you run downhill after 2k. Was a great place to be.

James1982a
I heard people shouting my name somewhere along there. I assume they were shouting at me, although there were shouts of James in the changeover area which weren't for me!
