That’s exactly what I’m hoping Given a huge 1/2m transition I should still be on the bike in under 2hrs whereas I was think I’ll be out of the water not much under 2 hrs It’s now all about my head rather than body |

Not sure if the log is public: fetcheveryone.com/t-19393369 There were a few stops for goggle adjustment which was very frustrating and you can see them on the splits. The second half was mostly blind as goggles were full which makes turning hard as its hard to judge distance to the wall and I couldn't check my watch for distance. I also lost my cap at 2km. Unsurprisingly, swolf was worse in 2nd half but pace fairly even. The mental challenge was much harder at the start as there seemed so far to go but after about 2km, it didn't seem so bad and I concentrated on my sunk costs! I felt a bonk about 4.4km and concentrated on my stroke till it passed. I wasn't going to give up! I brought the swim forward as my running plan changed a bit and I needed to fit it in a different place but I am very happy with the result: comfortably under 1.40 (or under 30sec length). |

Nice one ITG. I wonder how many of those other 297 badges for a 5k swim are legit? That seems a very high number of Fetchies who’ve swum 5k. In the old days, there would quite often be people logging 10k runs as swims and go shooting to the top of the swim mileage charts. Or maybe we do have that many endurance Fetchie fish. |

I doubt there are many actively cheating, Jules, and given the sheer number of fetchies (tens of thousands) I don't think 300 is so many.
