Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Odd how doing it at 28 spm feels hectic but when you watch, it seems quite slow and steady.

Hmmm. My keyboard warrior's soft-skin hands have been sloughing on the handle again. Maybe time to scrape it off.

That looks lovely Muttley. :-o

I've really lost a lot of my row-mo-jo over the last couple of weeks. Still doing bits and pieces but not really structured and I've gone right off the idea of going to BRIC.

Are you sure that's not from your meat paste sandwich Muttley? 😂

Disappointing that BRIC is virtual this year Nellers, can understand your loss of mo-jo! But as we say every November we'll all be there next year 😁 strong session today btw, well done!

Thanks mate. I'd pretty much decided to ditch BRIC before I found out it was virtual. The self imposed pressure of trying to get the increases in pace on schedule was sending me loopy!

Today's session was fun! I just did 6 min on/ 1 min off and did rate variations at 18/20/22 at random points. It broke it up nicely and kept my mind in the game and before I knew it 15km done! I've got the base fitness. It's the top end that I'm lacking, and pretty much always have.

I had noticed that you were resting, Nellers. I had an easy month as a dicky leg needed looking after. It's now rehabbing nicely so this morning was 4 x 15 mins at 20 spm. Took me and the machine past 13.5 million metres, 14 million here I come!

It was more the erg that had a rest, Muttley. I was still doing stuff but it didn’t much involve rowing. I did do a CrossFit workout which had rowing, burpees and lunges but I didn’t log it as rowing (2400m).

Glad your leg is recovering well.14m metres is HUUUUGE! Well done.

I'm exactly the same Nellers, I love building a good base on the erg, but when it comes to pushing the top end pace I quickly go off the bloody thing - I'll try again though.

That's a good session and a good way to rack up some metres! I did an hour yesterday whilst watching the first half of Everton v Spurs - it flew by, then I watched the second half with beer in hand 🍻

Glad your leg is on the mend Muttley! And very impressive lifetime metres, I'm approaching 5 million metres, which means a free long sleeve t-shirt will soon be heading my way 😁

Craggy, my advice would be to ask for a size larger than usual. My 1m T-shirt shrank in the first wash and was, tbh, of pretty poor quality. Hopefully they've upped their game now.

After a few weeks of taking it easy to feather the dicky leg I decided on something more energetic this morning so did some 500m intervals. And at a better pace than expected, although with a couple of mild "hello, don't forget about me" twinges from the leg as a warning not to get cocky.

I'm at 13.5 million metres after 14.5 years so I guess 15 million by 15 years is a big ask. But there's always 20 million metres by 20 years .... even if I will be claiming my state pension by then :-)
