Cats Whiskers
Yes! I have a cat who always wants to join in. He keeps circling me until he sees an opportunity to pounce on unattended toes or fingers. I think it's as much part of his daily routine now as it is mine.

He's also been working on shredding my old mat, so I've recently bought one of these:

yogastudiostore.com

I'm pleased with it so far – good padding, good grip and I don't dangle off the ends of my mat any more. It does smell quite 'rubbery' at the moment, though, but the upside is that the cat has left it alone so far... The service was brilliant, too. I opted for standard delivery but got a dispatch notice within 30 minutes of placing the order and received it the next day.

That's an interesting link Cats, that's not too far away from where I live and I know a couple of the yoga teachers. Nice to know that all their kit is sourced from the UK and not China.

Oh yes CW, I remember you considering that mat earlier in the thread - I'm glad you like it!

we have wooden flooring throughout apart from the stairs and landing and despite excess padding on my body it's hard!

Gobi, I do that sometimes and my mat is very thin so it's like not having one...but just offering a bit of anti-slippage.

today is a rest day and I slightly amended my normal 15mins as I could and I noticed there are several muscles that are tighter than I would like. This needs to be rectified!

I am also working on sitting cross legged! I currently can't! Well hardly although the attempt at the end of practice is always better than the initial attempted

My first priority is to get back into the routine of practicing more and then I need to develop and extend my routine
