Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We will be having turkey crown. Dad has already cooked, sliced and frozen it.

I hope to snaffle a turkey or two at post-Christmas prices.

A few years back, I found Christmas Eve afternoon was good. Asuming the shops have too many. Fresh turkeys (of all sorts) were 20%. Not 20% off, 20%.
I bought 2.

The following year there weren't any though.

It was manic at Tesco today - shelves were emptying faster than they could be filled. Couldn't beleive the amount of people in store at 5am. There were no whole chickens left at by noon

Tonbridge Sainsbury’s at midday was busy but not manic and all the shelves were well stocked. Not sure if I just picked a good time or if it’s always like that.

This is a Facebook link, but well worth checking out. If you are alone at Christmas and within travelling time, The Alexandra pub in Wimbledon is the place to go. It’s been providing company and a free Christmas dinner to all comers for 10 years now. It is run by the best people.

I'd ordered my turkey for collection between 8am and 9am at Waitrose this morning. I also had a short list of a few last minute things. I was there at 8am and despite the shop being really busy with people milling round I didn't have to queue at the checkout and was back home by 8 45. (Why don't people write a list? Makes it all so much quicker!)
Have done a fair bit of prep today so I can get my two hour run done tomorrow morning as per The Plan :-)
