57. My brother’s not much of a wine buff but that sounds quite an experience.

I've found my salopettes! I'd handily organised them by putting them on the hanger with the jacket. Only I'd forgotten that, even when I picked up the jacket and thought 'that's heavier than usual'. I was thinking through what I might have done and had a brain wave!
I've also found a pair of salopettes I bought years ago but didn't wear much because I lost them! Black, and very wide leg, unlikely to wear them again so it will have to be eBay.

Well, I can tell you, Glencoe was a great option yesterday!
Slightly stylised photo by Google, but it was sun and blue sky most of day. No new snow as it hadn't reached there yet, but groomed slopes were lovely. Very cold (-12C) and windy (50, gusting 70mph) so wind chill was crazy (-30C??) But the more sheltered runs were fine, wind wasn't constant, we were wrapped up warm and was a great day altogether. Better than some Alps resorts that were whiteouts, I hear from pals?!
Ski touring tried out - went the length of one tow up the mountain. Walking in the skis with skins and lighter, articulated boots is great. It's actually less effort than walking. I'd liken it more to riding a bike on a flat or gentle incline. I.e. machine assisted. I'm def going to give it a try. G

Sitting at Leeds airport waiting for our flight to Geneva. Made it here despite snowy roads. Flights are delayed but little info on how long. It’s a blizzard outside. Leeds airport is on the top of a hill which is not great. Just heard (via a friend’s dad who is a pilot) that Geneva is closed.

Not looking likely at the moment. But they’re still saying delayed, not cancelled at least

Great that you got out :)G.
And I hope you get away Meglet, would be dreadfully ironic to have your ski holiday ruined by the snow. Fingers crossed for you.

AC, I was delayed a day a few years ago by snow at Gatwick on my way out for skiing.
