That sucks Meglet. I’ve just got back from a few days in Mayrhofen. Good skiing and impressive apres ski. |

Thanks I’ll maybe take a look tomorrow. Too despondent at the moment! I may have a small window in April but nobody else from my group can go

I think I was the only one of my group that said if I was the only person to get there I’d stay and book a guide or lessons and ski anyway! Everyone else said they’d just come home. (As one of our group was able to get there by train)

I love the pics of the sun effects NDWDave. Seen a few similar things myself when skiing. The Geneva flight out of Leeds this morning is also cancelled, as we feared, though it was full and not possible to book onto it anyway. Ski gear has got some use walking daughter to school, was toasty warm and with yaktraks stayed upright really well. |

Such a shame Meglet. Sorry to hear you couldn't get out. Happened to us a couple of years ago trying to go to Norway. Unheard of - a Norwegian airport being snowbound. They were very embarrassed. Managed 2.5 hours of ski touring around my house on Friday. Think I've proved to myself that I would get use out of touring skis, so going to go for it. Just need a 4x4 to get to places in Scotland now, so that don't embarrass myself getting stuck in the snow again! G |

Another Scotland trip planned for 2 weeks time. Hopefully a full day out on the Cairngorm plateau ski touring, with a downhill the full top to bottom of Cairngorm itself to finish. If these touring skis things work out, I may get lots more skiing in Scotland than before. The snow cover is due to stay at height until April at least and possibly longer. G

My sister really wanted to go to Verbier this year and finally abandoned the idea today as we are having difficulty finding somewhere to stay and also being advised about how expensive it is to go to Switzerland. As the snow is so good this season, she has just booked us a late week in Morzine. |
