Someone on pur local FB page was giving away a bag of wool and bits today and these two books were included. I won't use and didn't know if anyone on here would like - happy to pay it forward and post out.

I finished the cardi and it’s absolutely huge. I’m pretty gutted. I am adding a hood because I think it will look better more like a big over coat so I don’t want to share any pics of it on until it’s finished because right now it’s not doing it for me 🤣😢

Oh that’s disappointing. It’s my one anxiety about making clothes, will it actually fit how I want? (Because if you can’t wear it or don’t like it that’s a lot of work)

Could you remove the extra squares? Or a row from every square? It can feel like a lot to unpick stuff but if you’ll be more likely to like it and wear it it may be worth it

Has anyone on here madr roman blinds before? Have just had a quote for some and they were very expensive- they don't even need to work, just want some flash ones to dress the windows? They can't be that hard can they?

Yes I have. You can buy kits with the poles and threads in. It was a bit fiddly and you need to measure carefully but if you can sew in a straight line they're fine!

In some ways easier than making a roller blind (which I've also done) as you don't need ot stiffen the fabric

I made some many years ago, they were quite simple, also relined existing roller blinds recently.

For daughter's room when she was a baby I bought a cheap Roman blind from Ikea and sewed a panel of nicer fabric on to it, together with some blackout lining. Worked perfectly well and was very easy.
