Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have a black neoprene hat & always put a bright silicone hat over top. I look like a muppet, but it works.

Being quite short sighted, I have found myself aiming for some not very stationary buoys at times... Still, have just bought myself an orange neoprene cap. Might be causing problems with it early next year as it doesn’t look as though the local lake is thinking of reopening in December. 😢

Some of the group at the end of our swim. Why they decided to wait until we were all cold and wet to stand about taking photos is a mystery. It was really dark this week but surprisingly good fun.

Fantastic picture!

Swimming is getting crazily enjoyable the colder it gets over here in east angular! Hard to fathom but it really is a life changer

Feeling very spoilt as my lovely fella has ordered me a feral swim bag for chrstmas. So cant wait for that. Although my trusty plastic gorilla bucket will be missed. It works so well both pre and post swim

In other news I am pondering.., how many of you swim in skins over winter?

I still dont have a wetsuit. I guess I will soon find out if that matters for me as most I swim regularly with do. I have a rash vest, run shorts gloves and booties still and this works for me

Headgear wise I have a brilliant thick neoprin hat and then wolly bobble hat over the top

FRU out of curiosity what temp is the water you are swimming in. I think the sea was 8* last night and I can’t imagine being in long without the wetsuit. I might be going to a Loch tomorrow which will be colder. Air temp last night was a few degrees cooler.

I'm still swimming skins in our outside pool which is 15 degrees, I'm not sure that I could manage much colder!!
