I'll have a search. I suppose it's a penalty for being able to appreciate the scenery (not that most of the scenery I see is worth it!)

8 previously undiscovered zones on this holiday. Unfortunately as it's only a week away, there won't be any more.

I guess a lot of people on this thread run lozenge-shaped runs but I just looked at an alternative and it seems to be better to actually run east-west along a Conquercise line and wobble up and down to bag the squares either side and then head down two full squares and reverse for west-east along another line such as Has anyone investigated this? |

No but I will now, that’s genius! I’ve got as far as capturing 4 in one go by running a small loop round the meeting point of 4 zones but I need to think bigger

I've looked at this, but can never find suitable roads... Like Susie, I have found handy corner joining points, usually by accident!

I like the 4 zones in a loop and have done that occasionally when out on business trips with a hire car but need some tactic for proper "long" Sunday runs. I'll see if I can find any real paths that work out quite as nice as the made-up example.

When exploring London I specialised in the E-W zig-zag and the four-zones-in-one-little-loop tactics but as a rule I remind myself that I am running in nice places for pleasure, not playing games.

Route efficiency is definitely very similar between WSW and conquercise, just on a different scale. It’s probably true for both that there’s an advantage to running in a city, as there’s more roads and options to stick closest to the optimum route
