When I was small, a Scotch egg was a great delight, but now?

I like a scotch egg.
Prefer Christmas cake and Christmas puddings made with brandy.
But hate brandy butter, has to be double cream.

I make Scotch Eggs and serve with green tomato chutney. It's a joy to behold.

The deli at the seaside does really nice Scotch eggs, I often treat us to a couple for lunch. Not a substantial meal, but probably a lot of calories (is that what defines 'substantial'?)

I once had a Scotch egg in a pub with a warm runny yolk 🤮. It should have had a government health warning! I can’t abide runny yolk!!!

Hipster Scotch Egg, ER. £6.50 please.
What about ... wrapping a boiled egg in Christmas pudding, rolling it in cream, coating it with biscuit crumb, and deep-frying it?

We used to be given scotch eggs occasionally at junior school. I would eat the scotch, but not the egg. Can't abide a cold boiled egg. The stew they served was also a challenge to this fussy eater. I used to pick the meat chunks out and wipe the sauce off on a tissue before eating them.
