Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

BK brighter days ahead
Just wondering what percentage of ‘locals’ actually run at Bushy and how likely is it that those whose regular event might not be starting will all head to the same alternative - particularly in London.

Seems a bit of a shame if they won’t let Penrith (say) go ahead because of some problem in London.

Almost seems like it’s more about grandstanding and political point scoring than providing an outlet for the poor beleaguered parkrunner to get some fresh air and exercise…

If it was just Penrith that was to restart then it wouldn't be much of a problem. But there are loads of other events inbetween there and London which also have permission and so they need to draw a line across the map at some point which makes it a bit less simple.

Most of the events are good to go ahead, and most regions have enough events around each city that there won't be any problems. But do they let one event in the middle of a city go ahead whilst ten other surrounding events don't have permission... or can they bring themselves to tell that one event with permission that they don't actually have permission so that they can let Penrith and the rest of the country restart?

I just don't get the mindset that would rather no events took place than most, but not as many as they want.
