Sigh
Well, I'm underwhelmed by this latest addition:

Thing is, they've only applied it to activities which you record as 'run' to see when you are slower - not to activities you record as 'walk' to see when you are faster. (I tracked my walk back to my car after parkrun as a 'walk' and the new field isn't recorded at all).

I suppose if you're a beginner on a run/walk it will give a nice graphical view of your improvement, but I'm underwhelmed generally.

It might be enlightening for long offroad ultras. I wonder if you can set the walk threshold pace. Might have a play...

I don't have that on mine, just checked yesterday's parkrun (where I did walk for a couple of short uphill sections, which can be seen on the cadence chart).

It also did a moderately poor job on the GPS, measuring 4.86 km on a course which I'd reckon at 5.03 (three loopy laps; alt start and finish, for which I reckon 20m have been added). At first look it seems ok, but zooming in one can see it going awry. A good reminder not to complain about short (or long) courses until after you've had a look at things ;-)

Sigh
Here's what it recorded when I took a short walk to bring my HR down before it hit Z3 in my rec run. Just can't see what benefit I could possibly get from this data.

My Garmin has had a couple of recently. Can see what you mean about that data, Sigh. This is the chart from the interval session I did yesterday.

Doesn’t seem to have much benefit either.🤔

Yesterday's 50 miles

Once again, Garmin's choice of language is tending towards derogatory - why 'idle' rather than 'rest' or even 'stationary' ? There's nothing idle about a 50 mile activity!!

They mean like an engine. Stationary too long and you might not be actively resting even if not moving.

I’ve had a nice shiny new Fenix 7 for a few days now, it’s going to take a while to learn how to use it properly and what to turn on and off and when.
At the moment it’s not giving me much in the way of sleep data
Comes up with ‘no sleep data recorded’ for all but last night - when it gave me total hours asleep (which looks wrong) but no pulse ox or hr or breathing.
If I want to see that info, what do I need to turn off or on to get it to do it?
The manual says it’s automatic- but it doesn’t appear to be…
