Storming work Sam Jelfs ! If I'd twigged you were coming through Cambridge (and hadn't had an early start this morning for a much shorter race) I'd have come and thrown jelly babies at you or something.

Well done Sam. Two of my clubmates were in it, reaching Melton Mowbray before stopping. Mind you, they did Braunston parkrun on the way.

funny, I was thinking yesterday that if I did this (clue: I won't) that a key part of the planning would be to have a couple of parkrun options (ideally ones with a good cafe!) on the route for Sat morning.

Thanks for all the congrats folks.

I can just about walk today, my right ankle is a bit messed up, but hopefully nothing a bit of rest can't fix.

Always like the plots showing the different routes everyone took.

That map looks crazy, I would have thought there would be more consensus on what the best route was.

Fling entry in for me, my 2nd time doing it. First one was not pretty (bouts of vomiting in the first half) so I've got a score the settle. Definitely the toughest race I've ever done.

surely some boffin out there has worked it out. I assume best is easiest? but then I guess it's personal unless you were competing and really going all out to get all the marginal gains possible.

I think a lot of people run towards wherever is home; or if they’ve done the event multiple times, they freshen things up with a different route.

I might move to Meriden and enter the race. Marginal gains.😃
