I make Sam about 10k from the black line, so he's plenty of time to get over it yet.
I need to make with the sleeps, but I can tell the dots are in good hands.

At this point in time the London option seems rather beneficial. You'll have lit streets, open 24-hour shops and garages, plenty of stimulating life around you and the potential of being able to get home (if you live there) or kip in a station until the morning. I don't fancy the options of no. 163 up north, stuck on another neverending trail until midnight. But of course, they might be heading home, what to I know?

I think this race is as much in the prep as any other.

What direction? How much elevation? Road / trail? Avoid big roads and traffic? What time do you get to towns to get food / warmth / toilets, etc?

I also think I saw on the website it might take a month to check, verify, accumulate all the results. I wonder how accurate these trackers really are? And whether people really have retired or whether they've been running "cloaked" for 5 hours and are miles ahead of where we think they are?

I was wondering about that. Current 3 and 4 seem to have stopped and Sam could get up to 3rd. But have they stopped?

The last race I did which used trackers the guy I'd been running backwards and forwards between most of the day, his tracker didn't work for most of the race. They shipped an extra one into him at 10pm or so at the end of a long dead end road. And I don't think that one worked either.

I suspect most of the blues really have stopped / retired but there must be some chance that the ping has unpinged.

There's a lot of trackers which stopped just after a circle, so I guess many runners had a target and got there.

I'm done, in the sweeper van*, heading home to sleep.

Race report when I've recovered, but thanks for all the support.

*My dad's van.
