It was actually "hang on, there are two other adults in the house who have not worked 26 hours of the last 48, neither of whom have lifted a finger" followed by telling said adults to help without having to be asked, because I don't have the mental energy for the inevitable back-and-forth about why they shouldn't have to. If you're really interested in an answer to "what's the matter with you?" that's it. But I also don't have the mental energy to fight the "you're stressed at work, don't take it out on us" sanctimonious bullshit from all of you either. So it's less energy to just do all the housework myself. I don't have any left over for conversation, it's spent biting my lip.
