This makes sense to me and not before time. geostrategy.org.uk The only bit I disagree with is the claim that the UK is "NATO’s premier European military power". France imho has assumed that mantle. |

Alternatively, the West could massively step up support for the Ukrainians without restrictions on how they use the weapons, so they can deal with the Russian military and solve the problem in Europe at least for the foreseeable. But I fear that train has already left the station.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I'd like to see the business interests of the signatories published as an appendix. Just for balance.

Fair point. What they don't say is what other spending will need to be cut or what taxes raised to fund this increase. But I agree with the thrust of the argument. (Disclosure: my work is indirectly related to the defence sector, and Muttley Jnr is awaiting clearance to start a job directly in that sector so you could say I have an interest in this!) |

I'll leave it to others to label you a war profiteer I'd be happy to sacrifice any spending on the westminster estate, subsidised food & drink there as well, also royal grant and any large infrastructure scheme on the SE of England. |

I mean, FFS. You give Ukraine missiles but prohibit their use against targets on Russian territory. Then you complain when Ukraine develops its own capability to do that instead. I understand not wanting fuel price inflation in an election year and God forbid Trump gets in, but come on, some thinking ahead is required here. Ultimately Ukraine is fighting for its existence. bloomberg.com |

'Just keep your fight for survival to yourselves, there's good chaps' Prices are going to go a lot more when the US is forced to fill up half of Germany with it's troops to outstare the Russians (again). At least we know Russian armour is shit now. |

Russia continues to target Ukraine's power infrastructure and, if reports are accurate, yesterday successfully took out a very large electricity provider to the Kyiv, Zhitomir and Cherkasa oblasts. This is bad news. The air defence in these areas is not as strong as it was, the West nerds to commit and provide more resources otherwise the bastard Russians will start to prevail. |

Guess they're trying to force Ukraine to stretch it's air defence to thin. As you say, the west needs to step up and provide the tools Saw a report last week I think of maybe 3 Su 26[?] Being destroyed on the ground inside Russia. How many of those do Russia have? |

The Sukhoi-26 is a sports/aerobatic aircraft. More likely you mean the SU-25, NATO covername FROGFOOT. The Russians have thousands of them, common as muck.
