Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Yup, all gone by the time I looked. Even my size. I shall watch for them appearing on eBay with a modest mark-up.

it's a good read that isn't it BG?

I had my 1st run in the Hoka Rocket X yesterday, just an hour with a few strides. I found them nicely responsive but very different to a Nike. I'd best describe them as a turbo-charged racing flat given that they felt comparatively flat and very light.

I then went out in a 300 mile pair of 4% for my session today and as a result I'm even more impressed with the Hoka. Recommend.

I "enjoyed" the comments after the article too, a fair few of which seemed to suggest the only fair approach was to run barefoot, citing Zola Budd - never mind the fact she only competed over a few thousand metres on a fairly forgiving track. I'd love to see those commenters race a marathon on city tarmac barefoot...

I persevered with the comments to the end too, AJLB. Bless 'em, so many people being wrong on the internet. Zola Budd, indeed, and of course Pheidippides and Born to Run.

WW, do you reckon the Hoka Rocket X would enable you to shave some decent time off a half marathon, say, by comparison with the kind of shoes you might have worn before the advent of the Nike 4%?

New pair of 4% opened and used. I shall be using these as a training shoe
