girlie, I'm like you - takes me about 2 miles to warm up. Treacle, glad FiL seems to be much better, but still a scare for everyone. Good news, EP. You'll be able to keep up your cardiovascular fitness without putting any load on the foot with swimming.

Good for you EP, swimming is great for building up muscles or weaknesses. My husband is getting over an ankle injury since Feb and he said the swimming really helped. He's back to running 3 times a week now although a bit slower than before - you'll get there too, just take your time.
Treacle - glad to hear FIL is better, that must have been a shock for you all, hope he makes a full recovery. Take Care.

Fanks for the hugs peeps.
Pix - at least you can swim. I wouldn't get any exercise from swimming (unless trying not to drown is enough;-)) !

fortunately FLM training means I am still ahead of target! Treacle I used to flounder but when I had a bad foot in 2006 I started making the effort and it paid off! I did the swimathon that year too 100 lengths!
