Awesome WAVA Solo. Huge congratulations. I've done my last long one today. A 39k with some marathon pace thrown in for good measure. Ready to taper and feeling ready to race in three weeks time.

Nice - this is a monstrous run! 😯

MarkJ impressive run !
So I take it 4:36min/km is your marathon pace i.e. you're aiming for sub 3:20 ?

You are not worried about doing too much? I ran a HM at marathon pace (OK, slightly faster) a week ago and I still haven't recovered completely. And that was just 13 miles at MP, I didn't warm-up or cool-down. 39k with 13 miles at MP is a massive run.

Hey Charlesvdw, yes I've set myself a target of hitting GFA entry times for some of the majors. Not sure I'll get to use it but psychologically, it's a good target to aim for. The training's been going well and although obviously more tiered on some days than others, I'm normally pretty much back to normal by mid week after these longer runs. I'm also paying close attention to my "training status" in the Coros "training hub". I've found using data these last 12 months has been incredibly useful for ensuring that I'm not over training etc.

I'm also giving myself some wiggle room with targets Charlesvdw.

My fantasy goal (and a real stretch) - sub 3:15
A goal - sub 3:20 as that's a GFA entry time
B goal - sub 3:26 as that's Mrs J's PB :)
C goal - sub 3:30 as that's this forums point, right :)
D goal - sub 3:42 as that's my current PB set way back in 2011.

Sub 3:30 is a moral duty indeed ;). If the weather is fine that is.

I'm running Milan on Sunday and I'm checking the weather on a daily basis. I like it cold and cloudy but it looks like way too nice weather with a max of 24°C and sunny; it's a good thing the start is early at 8.30 AM.

Yes, I saw that on the 3:15 forum. With your PB where it is, are you expecting another sub 3:15? That's a fantastic current PB too.

3:03:33 is great isn't it ? I'm confident I can run sub 3:10 in good weather conditions.

If it's warm I might struggle to run sub 3:15.

Of course I'm hoping to PB which is not completely impossible.

3:02:01 or 3:03:03 are nice times. Or if I don't PB maybe a 3:04:05 ;)

The end of another working week arrives. What has everyone got on for the weekend? I have two runs, an easy 12k on Saturday and then a long 31k on Sunday with some MP in there.

Two weeks to go after this one for those of us heading for the 21st. Last big week for you Hills of Death (HOD) or will you be doing two week rather than three week taper?

Solo
Probably not the weekend I had planned as I tripped and fell yesterday and have a lumpy knee 🙈 I am getting too old to fall on tarmac 🥴

Good luck any races. Hope you have a good one Joe1970 and it is a favourable wind!
