Kind of you to say Mr BBowman 🇸🇪 - I wish I’d been running at your age and I’m excited for what you’ve achieved so far and what’s to come💪

I agree consistency is paramount. My 3.14 was achieved after a two year period of consistent higher mileage. I did, however, race a lot in those days and now wonder whether that was actually counter productive. I have recently been reading about acidosis and the longer term effect.

I have run nearly 600 miles this year and the majority has been easy. The major difference I have noticed already is my ability to recover quicker eg I was able to do a 12 mile run a few hours after a 10 k race.

Sounds like a great finding that works for you Solo
I also think you can do to much for sure.
But that doesn't mean any training for me.
An easy plod will help me recover. I don't need to rest completely.
That works very well for me.

Solo I have read about running years or running age been a factor in performance rather than actual age. I think that’s why it’s important to have seasons to your running with recovery periods as well as recovery days

Yup, I’m a buyer for that line of thought Solo i.e. running years = “tread on the tyres” rather than earth years = “age of the vehicle”.

Ran my first marathon at age 54, 3:27; pb at 57, 3:12; got within 13 secs of that at 61. Still dreaming😎
