Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Last night: 13½ miles ground out after a 12½ hour shift on my feet
Was supposed to be 15, but it was getting too late, and I was tired!
Happy with that tho!
St B - not done White Peak before - Am really looking forward to it though!

And welcome!!

Managed my 1st 20miler yesterday paced at h/r at about 70% (ave 67%). Had been itching to do one for a while - finally got the opportunity- an undulating 22.8mile, with strong wind, in 2h47m. Badly prepared for it and I think I hit the wall with a couple of miles to go (absolutely nothing left in tank!!). Having got it out of my sytem, don't intend to do one for the while (unlikely to get opportunity!!) - but next time will prepare much better for it!

Just wondering how evertbody is getting on and whether anybody is undecided about which event?
(also to boing the thread - seeing all the other "sub marathon time" threads amongst the hot topics)

I'm having a 2 or 3 day break to be honest John! Felt a bit run down after the weekend and don't want to put my 10K on NYE at risk. I want to be fresh when I start training again on 2nd Jan too, no point wearing myself out now LOL!

I'm doing FLM for sure, but not decided on a second mara for the year yet. Quite fancy somewhere abroad, but there are financial constraints to consdier :(

Katie,
How closely have you been sticking to the HH plan? - I seem to recall you were using one of his, but tailoring it slightly to suit (something which I plan to do on the run up to my planned marathon in the autumn).

I've been using the post-marathon recovery plan from HH for the last couple of weeks, which is a 4 week plan to take you from after a marathon to a 10K race. It's only 17 days since my last mara so I'm not quite ready to start a full mara plan just yet!
I'm still undecided about what do to in the New Year. I've always used RW in the past, but might use an adapted version of HH advII and start in week 3, or possibly a combination of both.

Boing.

Hope everybody's training has been going well and not too interrupted with the Xmas spirit etc.

I had planned to do the Anglesey marathon (end Sep'07), but given that we are now planning to go away for 2 weeks hols at the end end of Aug'07 (as opposed to end of Oct'07), it looks like I'll be able to do the Snowdonia marathon now (being my " local"/preferred marathon).

A sub 3h15m for this event in 2006 would have given me a top 40 finish, but given the way way my training has been going and given the way I seem to go up the hills/ recover quickly thereafter these days (not much choice where we live!) I'm hoping that this target is still achievable/realistic.

I'm baiscally trying tp clock miles up at the moment (planned marathon not till end of October).
I try to get 5 x 70%max WHR runs plus one tempo session a week.
Had a nice fairly flat 12.7miler yesterday - tried to keep at a 70% maxWHR pace (148), without referring to Garmin regularly - came in at 71% for the run with ave pace of just under 6.4min mile.

Hope your training is going well st bernard.
