Thanks WW, well not proud perhaps, and still a bit bummed out for feeling this strange in my body, but I needed to get it done.
I kinda hoped it all would be fine and that I would be back in shape. But now I know I wasn’t.

I will see what I can do to get this sorted, probably the answer is take it easy, but that’s kinda hard too.

If it’s not a femur poking out of the skin, I found that the medical answers always is a bit wonky.
But I can go easier, some training must be good though, for the peace of mind.
Time will tell.

I joined the 3:15 thread back in my mid 40s when I think 3:15 was the GFA cut off for my age.

I'm 52 now, and I'd need to run sub 3:06:30 to get GFA based on today's GFA announcements. Blimey! Those shoes have got a lot to answer for... ;-)

Also the sheer popularity of the sport having an impact, I hope.

Coincidentally, I was thinking about this on my run today after I'd come across a few 'I'm in!' posts. I was thinking back as to why 3:15 was even a target in the olden days (2010). Then remembered that this was the GFA time target for MV40s back then as you said lark. I think it may have been 3:10 for men under 40 too but not absolutely sure on that.

Achilles went at about 15 miles was lamping quite badly and could feel it putting a strain on the right leg so DNF at the end of that lap. I was getting slower and slower for the effort. Disappointed but I knew it was a possibility. Onwards and upwards for Tissington April 2025. Thanks for all your support
