Not that I’m planning on joining this thread for reals, not for a few years yet anyway. LOL.

Thanks for posting that video, Big_G. I think I'm rooting for him too.

We may not invite you in JDA. Let’s see. LOL!!

Big_G I haven’t watched that vid but I do catch-up with your mate Bester’s channel from time-2-time. Looks like he’s getting a bit of a dose of reality this time around.

Hang in there Baz. Think about how crap it was to not be running. That might make you enjoy / appreciate what you can do. (Preaching to myself there!).

I heard a rule of thumb that you take 2x as long to get back what you lost, so give it 8 weeks or so Baz and you'll be back to where you were.

Agonizing though isn't it seeing the data come in that compares poorly with what you've been used to? And I suppose doubly so with you after such a massive streak of consistency.

Most annoying is the cause was a fall rather than an injury. My own fault.

I plan to slog out 7 miles tomorrow. Could be messy.

When I go through that cycle it's normally just laziness on my part, which is easier to handle!

I don't think when you originally posted about the fall that I expected it to keep you out for so long; I was expecting a couple of days break from the streak maybe.

WW, Nick Bester just did about 68:30 at Big Big Half and looks like he paced it well, and it’s a course PB, about 30secs quicker than last year. Whether he finds that 9secs he wants in Berlin remains to be seen!

Yeah, that was a good run by him today on what is a deceptively tricky course.

It’ll be a good conversion if he can turn that in to a sub 2:20 though.

I’m sorry to say that I didn’t use the pacing app, just manual lapped for myself. strava said I ran a 4:01 mile around Canary Wharf so it was good to go manual for once! Mile 2 is also completely subterranean and so the GPS issues are actually worse than for the LM.

Even the official splits for the elite field were messed up at 2 mile I think.

Do the organisers not consider our GPS needs when racing ;-)

Thanks for the tip on Voom, KinkyS. I had some of the citrus solid fuel on my long run yesterday. Nice taste and like kendal mint cake in the mouth. Did the trick, too.
