He has done 10 in an average of just over 2:45, hasn’t he? Not at Windermere though, but in Italy. https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/fastest-time-to-complete-ten-marathons-in-ten-days-(male)- |

Brilliant that you’re still knocking out decent marathons KinkyS. We’re in Coniston atm so saw some of the 10in10, but kept clear of Windermere on Sunday. Tango Adam is certainly amazing. It will be interesting to see how long he can keep up running so well when he does so many races. I actually finished before him in a marathon at Gloucester in 2010, although I’m sure he was doing several marathons at the time. |

I think the thing is, for him on a one off event, sub-3 is probably a fairly easy run. I’ve been at events where he’s gone and ‘raced’ a parkrun and then turned up at a marathon (late) and ‘jogged’ around there in under 3hrs. He just looks so smooth when he runs. Amazing really, and if his |

I remembered that Tango had commented on Steve Edwards’ Facebook page a while ago (Steve is closing in on 1000 marathons) with the below. |

I remember when he did Loch Ness. He was on the plane from Bristol and rushed off to a parkrun, straight off the plane. He won that in 16:04 (yeah, I know they’re not races, but you know what I mean). And then he went and came 2nd at Loch Ness the day after in 2:24, which I think is still his PB isn’t it?

He doesn't owe anybody anything, obviously. But seems to me like a hell of a waste of talent (conventionally speaking). He obviously loves clocking up races in big numbers in average (for him) times. Can't help thinking there was at least sub 2:20 there. But I guess one of the many requirements to be an elite athlete is the personality type too. The ability to continually take it seriously. Also looks like Loch Ness doesn't officially count, so 2:27:55 it is for the PB. |

PtB, yeah I know where you’re coming from. I don’t know him well at all, but it seems to me he really likes racing, any distance, any terrain. There have been times over BH weekends where he’s raced local races, hard, on consecutive days, which would probably break many runners I’d have thought. He also doesn’t seem to give much thought to kit, shoes, or any of that stuff - I’ve seen him get out of the car in kit that most runners probably wouldn’t run in, pin a number on, and race. There was an event earlier this year where he turned up in a vest but it was very cold and wet, and he was really struggling that day. If he had trained ‘properly’, it does make you wonder what times he could have ran, but maybe he’s just not wired that way as you imply. I don’t know.
