WW - I don't know, it does feel very much mental though, I can snap out of it, but it's just hard to snap out of it consistently. The ibuprofen I don't do much - it's a bad habit (I know plenty who run on it - bad news medically - or even worse Nurofen plus!!! ), it's after the long runs (once a fortnight), I just stiffen up worse than I ever used to. I wonder if it's partly the desk job, the less I sit, the better I feel and recover, and the better I feel mentally. Like I said on holiday I ran more miles, and recovered way better.
PtB please can you remove me from the sidebar, I've just transferred to the Boston virtual marathon for the 11th October as travel to USA isn't possible until November. I'm not sure whether I will be doing the virtual race but that's me finished for racing.
It would have been a good one to end on. I'm not sure I could do a chat run Gav, once I've pinned a number on I would want to race it. I would be happy pacing someone I suppose.
My running this year has been hit and miss. Motivation has gone through peaks and troughs.
The year started well but that only lasted a couple of weeks. February I only ran 47 because I couldn’t be bothered. Picked up a bit end of March some of April and most of may with a late decision to run Boston UK. Pleased with a 3:11 but that must have had a bad effect as I didn’t break 100 miles in either June or July. A disappointing Grimsby 10k (41:49)didn’t help in July. Since middle of august I have picked up a bit and was pleased with my 10k on Sunday 40:20 which came after my best weeks training since Boston but did feel I didn’t dig in enough second half as I did before the pandemic started.Hopefully will manage to keep increasing my mileage ready for the maravan marathon in November
After almost talking myself out of it whilst walking the dog I did my long run today. 18.5 miles quite a bit of easy off road. Once I got out the door and going I enjoyed it. Legs a little achey from Sunday’s 10k but felt better after a couple of miles
