I feel sorry for the cricket teams no training (apart from maybe nets now) no matches this season and all the social aspects of the game gone. At least football had some season over the winter.

I'm lucky that my lowest running fitness in 15 years has coincided with this. It has been a golden opportunity to go back to base and put all thoughts of natural running pace away without the issue of a race looming on the horizon. I'm really missing the cricket this summer. Not playing, those days are long gone, but listening on the radio mostly. I've even been looking at the TBOGUA thread to check up on the scores! |

my son is a keen cricketer. Some 1-2-1 coaching in the nets is allowed but nothing more. I'm sure that working technique with a coach is good at any time but it's a tough sell to a 10 year old who is looking at not playing in a match for the best part of a year. And he is terrible at running so that's not something we do a lot of together!! |

I was in for Windermere, the doing one of, the last of the Brathay 10 in 10, as a free entry from Rentboy of this very parish (a raffle prize that I didn't know I was in for!) When you say interesting, do you mean cos of weather at that time of year? ![]() |

Boston Marathon in September is off. Message from BAA: “Today, we write to notify you that the 124th Boston Marathon will be held as a virtual event”. Is this the first big autumn marathon to go? If I run 26.2 on one day in the allotted week I get a 🥇. So I suppose I will do a long training run. |

I see that I’ve just run my biggest ever May at a pretty modest 217 miles. I suppose that goes to show there are usually other things to do in May (and April more importantly!). Hang in there folks. It safe to say I won’t be capable of running a 26.2 mile training run, even for a medal! Good luck with that BR! |
