does that make sense to you lot? To me, I would like my performance to be marked against the world bests that were applicable at the time. I think that's particularly relevant given the advancing tech. So, I think that Ian's update doesn't help me.
In other news, I'm a little bit* injured. I have realized that I have a habit of sitting with one leg tucked under my butt. I seem to have done it for a long period while sat on a conference call last week, with my right lower leg being squeezed between my butt and the hard surround of a wooden chair. The result is a lot of pain in the ankle / achilles and I haven't been able to run since it happened. I believe this has to go high on my personal list of ridiculous injuries.
I see golf courses are to re-open. At least that'll stop lark running on them (OMG, why did you do that?! Poor greenkeepers!) but does this mean that we'll see an end to PtB's running return.
* was a lot injured, couldn't walk far on Friday, getting better now

Good solution. Comparison tables all use latest, individual can select what is used for standards.
Confirmed it makes little difference to me.

WW - all my injuries these days are from non-running stupidities. My ribs one came from gardening. Now I have a sore groin from trying to stop the dog dragging me into the nearest pack of sheep, every 2 seconds of a walk on open moorland. Running is the least injury causing thing I do, it's the rest of life that's the risk!

LOL @ WW. The course actually publicly promoted families heading out to walk the course, and we treked up there at lunch yesterday. And whilst it was so dry and I'll not get the chance again, I thought I'd traipse around it in the absence of anything else motivating to do! Not a soul around, quite pleasant underfoot too.
Hit hard in the HM with a loss of 2.06 as my biggest change. Shorter stuff much less affected for me.
I partly agree with WW in terms of comparing against the "best", but in reality the tables are only estimates anyway and we're at the mercy of whenever the US WMA decide to make changes. For the typical poster here (40-50yo male, apologies to those who don't fit that description!) the changes are quite significant and certainly make 80 a much tougher ask.
Hope the ankle sorts itself swiftly WW, but there are worse times to be injured, if performance is the goal. Less so if just escaping out of the front door is the goal.

Yes, estimates which change based on how people perform against those estimates. They were never really meant to be targets.
Hope the injury clears soon WW. Good time to recover with no pressure.

I suppose in the internal FE world, the figures had a life independent of the WMA tables, hence people taking a little more interest in them, and as they were linked to features like "standards" etc the change had ripple effects. I'm happy now I can toggle between the two, and it's made me refresh my understanding of how they work.

Yeah I can see how they got new life on Fetch and I guess as I haven't got into games and only take a passing interest in WAVA ATM I haven't got very attached to it all.

WW - odd injuries are my domain !!!
I agree on WAVA, its % at the time run rather than constantly amending it that I think should be measured and would be useful
