Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

SPR the way i prep for fast running is by doing strides after my easy run the day before a session.

That's different from the prep I'm talking about, SKR. I'm talking more conditioning (body's ability to cope) which doesn't happen in 24 hours. You're talking about muscle tuning and feeling ready to run fast. I sprint 48 hours before races and as part of race day warm up for the latter reason.

Doing sprints weekly is part of conditioning to be able to run fast though so can serve same purpose.

Remarkably the Netherlands announced yesterday that organised sport would resume from 1st September. I still think the chances of me running Eindhoven marathon in mid October are slim, but it adds a little bit to the motivation for getting out and running each day.

Who’s seen their WAVA scores reduced the most with Fetch’s change to implement the 2015 standards? Certainly puts some of the higher 70s a bit further out of reach for me :-(

It’s “the new normal” ;-)

I think my 5000m may have gone up. Either that or I missed that I'd hit 80% there. I think it uses the road time though so not a true WAVA.

My 1500s have dropped a little but not a lot.

I generally use PO10 for correct WAVA and there I'm at 78.x Vs 79.x here.

Just thought, with all the recent fast times, there's bound to be another WAVA update over the in the coming years?

Long term, the ideal is to update only once new tables are calculated and then only apply them going forward. But for this website clearly it's just a bit of fun so it doesn't hugely matter.

I previously had a few over 80%, but just the one sneaked over now
