Keep strong RFJ, hope you are able to manage the condition and continue to find pleasure in running.

As others have said don’t let it stop you contributing whenever you feel like it, you’ve a lot of experience to share and hopefully you’ll gain satisfaction helping others achieve similar goals to those you’ve smashed 👍

That's tough for you RFJ, you've achieved so much and always made a valuable contribution to the thread. Best wishes in dealing with the MS, I'm sure you'll be able to manage it well and we're all here to help support you. Please let us know how you're getting on and continue to post.

Sorry to hear that RFJ, I hope that being and keeping active can help with the physical and perhaps mental side of things too.

Had to chunk my tempo this morning into 4.6m, 1.4m and 1.0m after pushing too hard into the wind as I turned round back down the estuary on the Tarka Trail. Plus a bit too much eating might have taken it's toll too over the last fortnight!

Happy enough in the end though with average paces all sub 6:35, just need to make sure I pick up the plan properly again when we get home at the weekend. 20 on Sunday will be a challenge though with the return to work on Monday!

Just read Baz's blog and given my experience over the last two weeks on holiday I wonder what impact holidays have on others.

I've more or less dropped the mileage to just over half what was planned, but tried to include key sessions. Partly I think I've been influenced by the location, but also simply enjoying not needing to get up to an alarm every day, and maximising time with wife and kids when we're all relaxed have taken priority.

I can't imagine that two weeks on half mileage with some significant efforts put in will cause too much damage to the plan.

Are others better at running on holidays than I am?

No, especially if we go anywhere hilly and hot! Generally I don't mind being creative and getting up a stupid o'clock to get a long run in pre-parkrun to minimise the impact on family, but I can't quite muster that on holiday

I am a bit like you larkim, although I don't often do an autumn marathon which makes it easier.

I will be aiming to get an easy hour in every day if I can but will ensure the 2 days sessions definitely happen. I have delayed on session by a day so I do it when back home.

Bottom line I will need to just play it by ear on each day to see what I can fit in and I may need to sacrifice some sleep

Sounds like sleep might be more beneficial than running once in a while Baz?
