Great picture! 2016 if I'm not mistaken, right near the start (which is why my form still looks o.k.). You look far easier than me!

Happy/WW - I'll be doing Brighton actually next year so may well be acting as bouncer on the fGFA pen again
Reasons for Brighton: 1. I heard some bad things about champs pen last year (wasnt bought up to the back of the elites so thus got very congested) 2. I dont have a qualy time at the moment - now in theory I am in sub 90 minutes half shape... but I didnt fancy the pressure to go out and run one early on in an endurance build up as I've been doing speedwork for almost a year but very little mileage 3. I get an "elite" start at Brighton
4. We get free accoms - London I need a hotel if I am running because of the awfulness that is South West Trains!
Marathon a long way off, a hilly 5k next week, then a 3000m and then it is road relay season
I am also living the life of an elite athlete right now (as in I am not working) and from October will be doing a masters full time so hopefully lots of time to train.
Baz - good to hear the ankle is feeling better.
You guys had a long list of niggle which are quite impressive in their own way.
WW/CW is that Maidenhead Easter 10? Have either of you done the half - what did you think? Trying to find something in the Autumn that is localish and fits within XC schedule and isnt £39 (I'm looking at you Bristol Half!)...

Yep, that is Maidenhead Easter 10. I've done the Half for a few years now. It's a PB course (mine used to be there), very flat, but some say boring. It's 2 loops but pretty good support. If you're running (just) sub 90 I'll keep you company!

I've only done it once a few years ago on a very hot day and I didn't enjoy it, mainly as I ran poorly. But, the course is a nice one and it is very flat indeed.
I'm planning to be there this year too, not sure what sort of effort I'll give it yet. It is a Dashers Club Champs event this year so will be swarming with red and white.

Ran a 41min 5K last night, as tail gunner in club time trial, with an 83 year old lady who ran Birmingham mara in 1982 in 3:09 (First Lady home, ran a mile with Seb Coe). Loved it.

Brilliant Steve. Inspirational to run with older people, kids, runners with disabilities etc. Really puts our exploits into perspective! Well done. G

A 41 min 5k - finally a time on here I can keep up with! I tail run the two races that my club put on and I love it That said, my mile repeats last night (off 5 mins complete rest) were 6.04 6.12 6.12 so not too shabby. Just nowhere near you lot. Having said that, I can see from the pic of WW/CW why I might be a tad slower... HappyG - you are right, lots of football and cricket... and I come from a (short) long line of short stocky types.
