Hay in the bank?! Money in the bank or hay in the barn LOL! That'll teach me to post straight after a run

Still not sure TMW - all along I've said this is just a training run and I don't care about the time at all, but some good long runs in training and a not too bad 1:38 half last weekend on a fairly undulating course and there's part of me that wants to try and race it, just to see. I think I'll see how I feel over the week and on the day, nothing like a last minute decision

Excellent! Just got in 11.4 Base Miles before the heavens opened I'm taking it easy this week as I 'tweaked' my soleus 8 days ago. So not doing any long or hard stuff until it's happy again So today was miles/hay in the bank/barn. And Mr legg behaved nicely. Acouple more of those and I'll be back up to speed

Did Abbey Dash 10k at the weekend and ran 41:08. Quick plug into McMillan's calculator and, hey presto, I'm on for 3:13.
If only it was that easy!

If only 360!
I don't think any of my current race times predict sub 3:15 just yet, but having cracked 3:30 it seems like the obvious next target to aim for. I accept I might not get it at my first attempt (it's the AAA Championship time for ladies, so it shouldn't be easy LOL!), but I'm going to go all out to get as close as I can

Mine didn't until yesterday either.
I'm a bit sceptical of using such a short distance to predict marathon times. I'll have a better idea after my next half I think.

If I use my 10K time in the Macmillan calculator, it predicts a HM and mara time about 4 minutes slower than I've already achieved! My 10K time is well due a revamp though
I don't think you can really use those kind of calculators to predict anything more than half/double distance - so I'd use my 10K to predict a 5K or HM, and my HM to predict a 10K or mara, but I wouldn't use 5K to predict HM, or 10K to predict mara.

calculators are great fun but can predict some interesting times

Based on my most recent "race" time, "Macmillan" predicted 2h55min for the marathon. Given that my planned marathon attempt next year will be my first and will be on quite a hilly course I don't want to put too much pressure on myself re a target time - a sub 3h15m time would have resulted in a top 15 place in last years Anglesey Marathon (winner ran 2h44m, 2nd person ran 2h52m and only 5 people broke 3hrs - though there were only 200 runners - which I find strange given all the good reports I've read about the race).
